Biomaterials

S & V Technologies GmbH maintains modern research laboratories in the company’s facilities in Hennigsdorf that occupy an area of 200 square meters, where new biomaterials, biocompatible polymers, are synthesized and tested for their suitability for intended applications and undergo biocompatibility testing and comprehensive toxicological testing. The biomaterials tested in this way are then supplied to manufacturers of medical devices as raw material for intraocular lenses and other implants as well as contact lenses.

To meet the high quality requirements, the biocompatible polymers manufactured by S & V Technologies GmbH are exclusively made of highly purified primary substances for the manufacture of biomaterials. In the analytical laboratory, that is equipped according to the latest state-of-the-art, all raw materials are tested for purity and compliance with the defined specifications.

The biocompatible polymers manufactured by S & V Technologies GmbH undergo comprehensive testing. This includes determination of the residual monomer content, determination of material contants, long-term stability testing as well as toxicological testing to prove the biocompatibility.

The S & V Technologies GmbH quality management, supported by internal audits, ensures a high and reproducible quality of the synthesized biomaterials and continuous quality improvement.
